Marysville Police Department arrested Luis Ubias, a 45-year-old in Marysville, Calif. Wednesday on felony child molestation charges.
When a concerned mother brought her 5-year-old daughter, an attendee of local daycare “Leonor Family Child Care” in Marysville, it was discovered that the child told her the daycare owner’s husband, Ubias, had inappropriately touched her several times.
Ubias was arrested on Wednesday on a variety of Felony charges.
According to the police, the California Department of Social Services-Community Are Licensing Division, which is the department that issues child care licenses, was notified and will be conducting their own investigation.
The Marysville Police Department issued the following statement regarding the issue:
“On 4-16-19, a mother brought her 5 year old daughter to the Marysville Police Department to report that she had been molested. The 5 year old had been attending a local daycare “Leonor Family Child Care” in the city of Marysville for approximately 2 years. The 5 year old had informed her mother the night before that the business owner’s husband, Luis Ubias (45 yrs old) of Marysville, had touched her inappropriately several times. Detectives conducted an investigation, gathering enough evidence to arrest Ubias. Ubias was arrested on 4-17-19 on a variety of Felony charges. The California Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division was also notified, this is the department that issues home child care licenses. They will be conducting their own investigation into the incident in regards to the facilities license status. Parents of children that have attended this child care facility in the past are encouraged to contact the Marysville Police Department. This is an ongoing investigation and there may be more potential victims that may come forward.
